«Del Bosque's Message», a campaign by MIG Prisma for Audika

Which of your children would you say you love the most? We're not completely losing our minds. It's just the most uncomfortable question in the world, with no possible or valid answer, because they are part of you. Each one is different, unique, and special. And you love them as they are, because they carry your DNA. This is what happens to us with our clients and the projects we develop from scratch, which we see born, grow, and mature. However, and although we love each and every one of our projects, we must confess a secret we shouldn't. Today we've come to talk about one of our favourite children, about how one of those projects that makes us smile as much as a child opening Christmas presents came about: the creative idea, the concept, and the filming of Vicente del Bosque's latest advert for Audika, with whom we have one of our most beautiful and lasting relationships.
MIG Prisma and Vicente del Bosque: The Origins
The relationship of Audika and from MIG Prisma with Vicente Del Bosque was born in 2021. The spot revolved around the global concept of the campaign: ‘We change lives’. ‘The most important match of our lives is caring for our hearing health’. That was Del Bosque’s message. That shoot was quite atypical. Atypical because it was pandemic times. That era that sounds so distant to our ears and yet happened not long ago. Protecting health transcended the limits of ethics and morality to become a moral imperative. And that is why the shoot was conceived with Vicente as the sole figure, on an empty football pitch, with no extras, and only the essential and necessary members of our agency to carry out the shoot successfully.
With his magical aura, Vicente's presence was enough to fill the void caused by the exceptional circumstances of the moment. It only took half a minute for the football legend to win over all the members of the MIG Prisma team.
And if we cast our minds back, it is solely so that you may understand the affection and special bond that unites us so strongly with our client, Audika, and with Del Bosque. Breaking the silence through complicity, affection and empathy is something reserved only for that league of exceptional individuals who inhabit our world and whom, on very rare occasions, you are fortunate enough to encounter.
Here's the first advert featuring Vicente del Bosque for Audika:
What truth hides: the creative process
When faced with strangers, we often act without pressure, setting aside nerves or embarrassment. However, when you have something or someone before you whom you particularly love and respect in equal measure, the challenge and pressure multiply. And that is what happened to us at Prisma when we received a challenge as motivating as creating and filming Audika's latest campaign with Del Bosque.
Nervousness, excitement, and joy. These three words perhaps summarise what it meant for us to present the concept for the campaign that we had devised in our creative department. Nervousness, due to the relationship and affection that has united us with Audika for years, and for repeating the collaboration, maintaining the high bar of success achieved in the first campaign alongside a figure like Vicente del Bosque. Not only because of what Vicente represents in the collective imagination of an entire nation, but also for his human qualities.
We didn't quite get it right the first time, but as we enjoy a challenge, we won the second time around. ‘Pampering your ears’ won out. The idea of how listening well enhances our lives, how it makes us present, was the winning bet for Audika. A ‘storytelling’ in which we play with the sounds of life, and this time, not only to show Vicente in his most football-related guise, from the ‘match of his life,’ but from his more personal side. Thus, we are transported to Vicente's past, where memories play a fundamental role – through close-ups – to return to the present: listening and taking care of his hearing health allows him to live and fully enjoy life – technically symbolised by opening out the shot – to see what a normal day in Vicente's life is like now: remaining active by coaching an amateur football team, eating with friends, or spending a day in nature.
A campaign with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of hearing health. Hearing well places us in the here and now, allows us to be present and, therefore, prevents the early onset of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's and dementia, among others.
The moment of truth: all or nothing
The alarm clock rings at ungodly hours. But it doesn't hurt. Because THE BIG DAY has finally arrived. 6 months and I don't know how many days creative development, pre-production, etc. are condensed into less than 24 hours of filming, where everything, at last, makes sense. That's why, the early start for the Prisma team doesn't hurt, but is faced with the smile that those days bring you that make you love what you do, that define you as a person, that reach the culmination of your mission as a professional.
You've already overcome the biggest challenges: finding a location that combines a football pitch, nature, and a restaurant. The chosen place: the city of Banco Santander.
The challenge, in script form, is also how to condense a lot of information into smaller pieces, the 20-second capsules (compared to the main 40” advert, which has more room for pauses), so that Del Bosque's message is understood and the reassurance that the concept and our client require is conveyed.
Behind the scenes
And there you are, in front of a figure like Vicente del Bosque, someone who excited our entire country by winning our national team's first—and to date, only—World Cup, and the nerves disappear when he looks at you.
Because Vicente Del Bosque casts a glance at each and every person around him. And then, he dedicates a few words, or a joke, to you that defines you. It's the ‘Del Bosque effect’. Winning over anyone who crosses his path in less than ‘a nanosecond in the metaverse’.
Filming with Vicente is easy. Beyond his experience in front of the cameras, his strength is his empathy. This empathy shines through with our entire team on set, joking about signing one of our agency's members after her improvised football tricks, or confessing to our client: ‘With your height, why didn't you go into basketball, Vicente?’ ‘I was very clumsy,’ he replies with a smile. And even truly bonding with the extras who were playing his friends at a meal with the football star.
Travelling to the different shooting locations in a golf buggy, or getting the giant jet of water from a lake to stop working in seconds so the noise doesn't creep in, are the kinds of anecdotes we'll always remember with a smile.
But, without a doubt, the opportunity to film with such a magnetic, approachable, and incredible person as Vicente del Bosque for one of our longest-standing clients is something we will always cherish in our memories.
